For the first time in Lincoln history, for voting Student Government Association elections will be done online.
The move to an online voting process will make the effort to elect the next board run more smooth and accurately, said Taron Jordan, a member of the election committee. The election committee has also decided that paper ballots are time consuming and costly due to paper costs.
Unlike previous years, students will not only be restricted to voting in the cafeteria. Students will receive an email in their Lincoln inboxes with detailed instructions.
Students will be able to vote from any computer or cellular device that can open up their Lincoln emails.
Polls will be open 12p.m. to 8p.m. on Thursday March 21.
Students will be able to vote, via computer, in the cafeteria.
“Online voting shows how Lincoln is keeping up with the times and with other schools,” said Jordan.
“I am a transfer student and at my old university they used it and it went off without a hitch.”
