In the first home game of the season, the Lincoln University Lady Lions lost 75-73 to the University of the Sciences Lady Devils.
Dynese Moore carried the team with a career high of 22 points in the game.
Moore said, “I was just trying to take advantage of my match up. Coach Kern told me to play under control but also to take my opportunity to score.”
The Lady Lions were only down 2 points going into the second half trailing 35-33 and were shooting a season high 50 percent from the field.
In the second half the Lady Lions’ great shooting night was succumbed by turnovers. The main reason for the Lions defeat at home was points off turnovers and defensive assignment breakdowns late in the game.
“We have to do better defensively and learn how to pull away when we have the lead, said Moore. We knocked down a lot of shots tonight but we have to start playing on both sides of the court.”
Another player for the Lady Lions that had a stellar game was senior forward Tahlar McIntosh who recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
The Lady Lions as a team shot over 40 percent throughout the entire game and hope to continue their hot shooting in their next match up against the Bloomsburg University Lady Huskies.
